DAY1: ARRIVE IN TANZANIA:We stay at Chanya lodge which is a beautiful Hotel located on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and is a perfect place to prepare you for the adventure.We will gather in the evening at 5:30 pm for a pre-climb briefing and an equipment check.We will also confirm you have the appropriate mandatory medical coverage and travel insurance.Dinner and overnight at Chanya Lodge: Bed, Dinner, and Breakfast included.
DAY 2: MANDARA HUT (FULL BOARD)After having your breakfast we will make a short journey from your hotel in Moshi to the National Park gate for the necessary formalities at the gate. We start the climb through a fascinating tropical rain forest; we reach the first hut at Mandara for dinner and overnight. An alternative is to simply rest and relax in the beautiful forest around the camp.Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut (2,700 m):Altitude gain:6,046 ft to 8,858’ ft; Hiking time: 4-5 hours, 5 miles

DAY 3: HORROMBO HUT (FULL BOARD)Today the first part of the walk is a steep ascent through the forest, but the path soon opens out into moorland and, in clear weather, there are great views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.We arrive at Horombo Hut in mid-afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning scenery around the camp.Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (3,720 m): 8,858 ft to 12,205 ft :Hiking time: 6-8 hours, 7 miles.
DAY 4: HORROMBO HUT (FULL BOARD)Today we walk towards the Mawenzi hut, passing the Zebra Rocks, this extra day and night will be spent at Horombo Hut for additional acclimatization. We recommend drinking enough water and walking slowly! All meals for the day are provided at the Horrombo hut.Horombo hut to further improve our acclimatization:12,205 ft to 14,400 ft : Hiking time: 2-3 hours, 3 miles
DAY 5: KIBO HUT (FULL BOARD)Today we climb very gradually towards the lunar desert of the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. These 6-7 hours of walking will be taken at a slow pace until we reach Kibo Hut (4,700m), where we will spend the night in a comfortable hut.There is no running water at Kibo Hut. DAY 6: KIBO HUT TO SUMMIT TO HORROMBO HUT (FULL BOARD)Wake up before midnight in the cover of darkness. We begin a steep climb over loose volcanic scree has some well-graded zigzags and a slow but steady pace will take us to the rim of the main crater, Gillman’s 5,685 m. We will rest there for a few minutes to enjoy the sunrise over Mawenzi. Those who are still feeling good can continue slowly to make the three hour round trip from here, along with the crater rim to Uhuru peak 5,895 m. Which is the highest point in Africa. After a few minutes to appreciate your accomplishment we descend to Kiko Hut is amazingly fast, and we stop at Kibo Hut for some refreshment, we continue to descend to reach Horrombo Hut.Kibo Hut to Summit to Horombo Hut (3,720 m.): 15,430 ft to 19,341 ft to12,205 ft, 4 miles ascent, 10 miles descent, 6-8 hours ascent, 4-6 hours descent
DAY 7: HORROMBO HUT TO MARANGU GATE Our last day on the mountain will start after breakfast and thanking your crew its time to head back down to the forest stopping for lunch at Mandara Hut and then on to Marangu gate. Your guide will arrange your certificates and our driver will meet you to transfer you to your hotel for a long hot shower and a celebration. to Chanya lodge for dinner and overnight.Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate: 12,205 ft to 6,046 ft : Hiking time: 5-7 hours, 12 miles

DAY 8: DEPARTING DAY:If your time in Africa ends today our transfer team will drive you back to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure. If you have booked with us a safari or a few days to dissolve into the pristine sandy beaches and tropical waters of Zanzibar, we will be there to help you comfortably transition from your climb into your next Tanzanian adventure.
